SCERT Tamil literature revision panel report unpublished for 11 months

எஸ்.சி.இ.ஆர்.டி. தமிழ் இலக்கிய திருத்த குழுவின் அறிக்கை 11 மாதங்களாக வெளியிடப்படவில்லை

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) constituted a panel in March 2025 to revise Tamil literature content for Classes 9–12. The panel submitted its final report and recommendations on 18 June 2025. Eleven months on, the report remains unpublished.

SCERT's position — given verbally to two member-volunteers and to TN-Info via a follow-up e-mail — is that the report is "under review at the secretariat level". Between September and December 2025, six panel members resigned in protest, each publishing their resignation letter on personal blogs that we have indexed at tn-info.in/sources/scert-tamil-panel.

The textbooks for Classes 9–12 entering the 2026–27 academic year remain identical to the 2024–25 editions; the revision cycle is effectively skipped.

How we found this

Existence of the report confirmed only via member resignation letters published on personal blogs.
